Freedom and Union: Dedication of the Lincoln Emancipation Proclamation Statue

Join us for a historic moment as the African American Civil War Memorial Museum  Dedicates the Lincoln Emancipation Proclamation Statue.

On September 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM, we will honor President Abraham Lincoln’s signing of the Emancipation Proclamation with the dedication of a new statue at the Museum. This event commemorates the promise of freedom, the courage of the United States Colored Troops, and the enduring legacy of the fight to preserve the Union and end slavery.
