H.R.6816 – United States Colored Troops Congressional Gold Medal Act

Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton introduced this bill to provide a Congressional Gold Medal award to the African Americans who served with Union forces. It recognizes the Soldiers’ bravery and outstanding service during the Civil War.
