The Washingtonian Unveils the Opening of DC’s Landmark Museum

According to a recent article in the Washingtonian, after years of anticipation, the complete African American Civil War Memorial Museum is finally set to open this summer. This significant project, the vision of activist and former DC Council member Frank Smith, will be located in Shaw at Vermont Avenue and U Street.
The Washingtonian reports that the museum will tell the powerful stories of Black Civil War soldiers through various engaging exhibits, including live reenactments, educational videos, and historical artifacts.
